She's a little runaway

Today my co-worker was trying to brighten my day (ha!), and shared this story with me:

I know it is just a dog, but it's pretty sad.  I remember hearing about this dog and I think there was even a book written about her a couple years back?  Or maybe I am confusing it with another heroic war dog...

anyway, just thought I'd share the sad story.  You never know who that stray runaway could turn out to be...
