Well, we've made it to the full-term mark--37 weeks! We will be happy for baby to arrive any time now. :) Well, actually we really hope she comes around her due date, which is 3 more weeks (I've got a lot of work to do in the meantime), but we think we'll be fine if she decides to come sooner.
Here is a quick photo update:
The next 3 weeks are jam-packed with work and appointments and taking care of last minute stuff. Today we had a breastfeeding and postpartum care class, which was really practical and full of great information to prepare us for immediately after baby is born. It was taught by our wonderful doula, Lisa. :) Really looking forward to the birth and having her there to support us! I wish I could go ahead and take off of work now to try to rest and take care of things at an easier pace...but unfortunately I pretty much have to work up until the baby is born before I go on maternity leave. Whenever I have the baby, Michael will be able to take 5 days of paternity leave to be with us as well, so that will be nice. The baby's room is almost finished! Just a few more finishing touches (curtains, shelves, diaper pail, etc.) and then it should be ready. I'll have to take some photos and post them as soon as we get it done. In the meantime I've been working on washing up all the baby clothes and other items, trying to finish writing my thank-you notes, and working on maternity leave substitute lesson plans. I still have a ways to go in the next 3 weeks, so I am praying I can get it all done!
We're scheduled to take maternity photos next weekend so that should be fun! We also have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday afternoon and they will do a non-stress test to see the baby's heart activity I believe. Then I have to go back on Friday for an informational class at the birthing center. Then I guess we'll go back for doctor checkups each week until the baby is born. I can't believe we are in the final days! Just trying to enjoy it and what's left. I'm looking forward to having an empty belly and getting to hold my baby on the outside, and getting to lay down on my stomach again!
That's all for now. :)
